I agree with your presentation. As a young man a 750cc bike of any kind was a large bike. Arrogance has created the name starter bike, and it is even used in Europe. A cruiser has a different motor built for torque more than HP, so you can carry a load in any condition. Why any sport cruiser would want anything larger than a 750-800cc is beyond me. They aren’t super heavy making it easy for lighter or shorter riders to enjoy owning one. Some how a 1000lb cruiser doesn’t appeal to many cruiser riders.

the rebel is the best choice for a starter cruiser because it is more transitional from other bikes to the cruiser, but the kawasaki may be just as good or even better depending on the buyer, got to go w/the yamaha bolt next then the Indian and Harley as I think them to be more than starter cruisers and may be kind of an expensive toy see if you like it or not.

Which would you say was the fastest of the bunch? I have heard the Vulcan 650s is faster than the 900 Vulcan with the 500lb weight and 55 hp and 45 ft-lb torque.

Get the Harley. Don’t even consider anything else. After decades spent riding boring Japanese bikes, I got my first Harley, a used ’06 Sportster 1200 Low, with an aftermarket exhaust. It completely reintroduced me to riding. Nothing else feels or sounds like a Harley. For a while the Japanese came close to copying the look, but that’s all it was. There was no substance behind it. It felt and sounded just as smooth and quiet as every other Japanese bike. Yes, you could make it loud, but it (all Japanese cruisers) sounded terrible. Japanese engineers know why Harleys feel and sound the way they do, but chose not to copy it. If you want to experience what riding a motorcycle really should be, then the Harley is your only choice, followed by an aftermarket exhaust.
