Erick de viking says:

that is my dreambike in all honousty.

dutstinroach says:

lol i am not older or have lots of money and i still own a harley.

Ithboltar666 says:

That thing. If it has stage1 mods, it really tops at the end of the speedo. So 120miles per hour on a sportster. And yes it is terrifying for the faint heart `ed in that speed.

Jerrod Spring says:

how tall are you? what’s the fit like?

Caz Gerald says:

Gotta wear earplugs to avoid more hearing loss – fuck everyone else using the rode who aren’t wearing ear protection.

S Defiel says:

Actually, I think this is actually a good video to actually show us, but actually something actually bothers me about it but I can’t actually tell what it actually is … actually. 😉

Raul Galvez says:

I have the same kind xl 1200 custom. I like it. the only thing I need to do is get that windshield. I have gone up to 95 mph. just to get away from the DUMBASS tailgating idiots.

turtlebone says:

Any motorized vehicle on two wheels is cool in my book.

Tom Boyte says:

That’s a nice area to ride in. I ride a 2014 Sportster 48. My 3rd. Sportster since 1975. I run Vance and Hines short shot staggered pipes, a Screaming Eagle open air filter and had the dealer do a stage one download to the computer. It’s way faster than I want to go. I live in Arizona and ride year round. I have owned many types and makes of bikes since I started riding at 14…I’m 71 now. I liked them all and never diss anyone ride. Thanks for the video.

A Babbit says:

Here is a question for a lot of uninformed riders. But first, some information. The Honda VFR750 and 800 were known for having “gear driven cams.” Pretty impressive. Aftermarket parts producers like Andrews make gear driven cams for Big Twins. Pretty impressive. Some bikes have “Double” overhead cams. Now here is your question. “What has 4 gear driven cams with self adjusting hydraulic tappets? You’ve got it, the Sportster engine!!! 4 cams, gear driven, never needs a valve adjustment!! Pretty impressive, huh!!!

BarryEssex says:

You don’t even KNOW how to ride a bike (example; grabbing the clutch while slowing down!?)

neemguy81 says:

Wouldn’t it make more sense to have the Tach as analogue and the Speedo as digital?

Daniel Aderholt says:

i love my sportster 1200. I test rode sport bikes and just could never bring myself to commit to it i like the styling Harley does and honestly ve seen some built Harleys that are fucking insanely fast

Ashman Dragon says:

Thanks for the look at your Dads bike. . Beautiful countryside you have to ride through. . Can I ask where in the States that is ? . .Many thanks Ash.  Cairns Australia.

looksgoodonpaper says:

I love mine !

dry509 says:

What exhaust pipe does this bike have?

mike anderson says:

Don’t worry about a tach on a Harley. Just shift when the torque quits.

Bob Davis says:

There are no 500 or 750 sportsters. The tach is sitting in front of you below the speedo. They top out around 125. This video just seems like a hate video. Sorry, enjoy your bike – I’ll enjoy my HD.

Cameron M says:

I’m 19 I have a 1200 custom

PapawTom says:

Get into the throttle! It’s a Sportster. My take is most 1200 riders treat them like big twins and I think not having a tach adds to that tendency. Sportster engines are not big twins and can handle some revs. My ’06 will accelerate fast enough to make me hold on tight, and grin real big.

azram63 says:

A brand new 2017 1200 Sportster Custom is $10,999 not $14,000. I bought my 2013 in 2014 with 4,000 mi on it for $8,000. Also the 500 and 750 are not Sportsters. They are a new platform of smaller liquid cooled street bikes.

Michael Hutson says:

yeah they don’t make 500’s; 883 is as low as it goes anymore, the 750 was a race bike

Sportster 1200c says:

Looking to modify customize mine only confused about what I want cruiser /////. bobber look

iruleyounow says:

I totally agree on the pricing. It’s rather ridiculous in my opinion. With that said though, if you get a used 1200 sporty you’re really not paying much. Maybe 5k on the high side. The amount of performance mods you can do to these is pretty awesome too. It would never touch a lot of the sport bikes but as you said, its for cruising. I’m 24 and have no interest in the whole stereotypical harley scene. A lot of guys my age and a little younger are getting into these. In California the way the guys do these bikes up is unreal. Check out Unknown industries here on youtube and some others to see what I mean. Not just an old mans game anymore. Great review man! I have a 1200 sporty as well.

Wes Jackson says:

I have found hundreds of these 1200 Customs for under 8 grand. But new?? I would buy something different.

joseph b says:

I discredited everything this moron said after ” i do have ear plugs in”!!! Wtf!!! Im out!
