Kawasaki Z900RS motorcycle review | Visordown.com

Is the Kawasaki Z900RS the new lord of the retro bike class? We’ve just ridden it at the launch in Spain to find out.

It has to be one of the most highly anticipated bike to appear at EICMA 2017, with amazing colours including a brown and orange or a matte green. Unfortunately Kawasaki have priced the brown and orange (the original Z900 colours), more expensive at £10,199 compared to the £9,899 in black, 10,099 in matte green.

We were also gutted that we couldn’t ride the Cafe version of the Z900RS, as it wasn’t ready in time for the launch.

Overall a great modern take on a classic retro motorcycle.

Good review

Big T says:

There’s no way that is a £10K motorcycle.

Michelin Star says:

Always great thorough reviews!

Robson Enduro says:

nice! it is very similar to honda CB 1100 RS, isn’t it?

Rdodo67 says:

have they not ridden the gsxs1000 since the throttle issue was addressed?

okleydokley says:

Exactly why does it cost almost 4 grand more than the z900?

Mat Bettinson says:

ooo hadn’t noticed that mank front fender mount until you mentioned it. Well I guess that’s easy to change.

Norrii Music says:

Anyone know what jacket that is ?

The Good The Bad and The Viral says:

Good review, now waiting for the CB1000R :)

Ram C says:

Z 900 RS or CB 1100 ? Pls suggest

Gabor says:

This is my perfect upgrade from the bandit. Wish I had the money for it.

Travis Donald Stanley says:

Good review. I subscribed again.
Good eye on the front fender. That does take away from the bike.
Otherwise, the styling is great. The console looks great.

Brett Wendel says:

Wish you would have addressed the head light.

MarkinOZ59 says:

The UJM version of the z900rs is just sensational…but that lime green cafe is something else. Thank you Kawa, you’ve made my day!

Alan Briggs says:

Love the look of this. Hate the look of the standard Z900. But then I’m old.

Tony Bennett says:

I want one.

Enoch Powell's Moustache says:

I think some manufacturers could sell shit on a stick and people would still buy it. (I’m not calling the bike shit, I just don’t see the point)

Comfy Sofa says:

I was remotely interested (z1000 gen 4 owner) but, not for me, kinda sick of the whole jumping on the retro bandwagon thing…KHI should have been busy putting the H2 lump into the z1000 – they’d have cleaned up in the naked sector in one swoop.

Keith White says:

Also, what’s with the single, offset horn under the headlight? All the UJMs that put the horn there had doubles, like the CB1100. This looks like one is missing. (disclosure: original Z1 didn’t have horns there at all)

Aussie Kawiman says:

Got ours yesterday, What a bike, looks fantastic, rides great and you feel so good jusst cruising on it, A credit to Kawasaki for building a true usable retro bike.Great review as well, Thanks

disekjoumoer says:

Absolutely lovely bike that does indeed remind me of my burning desire to own one when I was about 17. That said, while it is definitely by far the best looking retro styled bike on the market today, I’d still rather go with an adventure bike these days.

Stizzy Grayson says:

Great review and great bike. Though I sat on a green rs cafe at the Sydney Motorcycle Show last week, and fell in love.

Marko Ristic says:

Guys, you doing the best reviews!
Your fb page is so so, but reviews are great!

Geoff Halsey says:

I love this bike except for one thing, that 4 into 1 exhaust. I’d be looking for an aftermarket 4 into 2 to balance up the look of the rear.

Numb Bum says:

I know what’s on my Chiristmas list..

ozzyg82 says:

Seems a bit pricey.
