This is the most interesting bike to me as a second bike. I need to find a test ride, because I don’t know how it would be in really low speed (friction zone) riding.
Very beautiful bike for very beautiful lady.
The FX was my least favourite style bike out of the range but the more I look at it, the more I like it.
The S would probably be my choice, can’t wait to see you review that and/or the SR.
The zero line-up is the main reason I even got into motorcycles. One day I will have the nice looking sr!
My only issue with electric bikes is the battery pack. After 5 or so years, you will get tuck replacing the battery pack for more than what the bike will worth. Unless manufacturers can lower the production cost of the battery pack. Once that issue is handled,i may be more interested in E-Bikes.
Great review dodge
Great video, thanks for uploading. I’m most definitely buying a 2018 FX at some point this year, hopefully sooner rather than later. It would be nice to have before the summer, but that remains to be seen. I live on a large private estate and working farm in Spain, and want the bike more to get around the land than anything else — but to have it road legal right out of the crate is another real bonus to the FX.
One thing though; if I can’t buy it in black, all that while is being immediately wrapped or dipped. I love the stealth look of the older models. Also I just bought a new helmet in readiness. I found a Nexx X d1 Plain at an unbelievable sale price, and its lines match the bike (BLACK bike) perfectly.
Just watched the range anxiety video. Very reassuring. Thanks again.
Since you’ve mentioned it, I’m going to lick that bike someday when I get test ride.
“when you get that feelin’ ” watch?v=rjlSiASsUIs
I can’t wait to see a Larry Ward, or Jeremy McGrath on a track on an electric. It’s just around the corner I believe..
Can you review a Yamaha TW200 and compare it to your Grom with Maxxis tires
I agree that range anxiety is a non-issue. I commute 35 miles to work and use around 30% power on a 2017 S ZF 13 model. On the weekend I do some spirited riding. As long as I avoid long trips on the interstate the battery lasts longer than me. I have yet to get it below 10%, and have only gotten it below 20% twice. That is at max torque, as a heavy rider, going max wrist more than I should. I can get more range if I tried, but it already has more than I need.
Like you said, the ergonomics of the bike are designed for the range they have, so even if the bike could go further, you probably wouldn’t want to. It’s not a touring bike. For what it is though — a commuter and something to ride around town on — it is hard to beat. Especially considering it doesn’t need to warm up, be winterized, or require much in the way of service. Just keep air in the tires and go.
My bro used to live in Durham, and now lives down in GA, it’s funny to me how all the neighborhoods look identical down there.
Did you know that US special forces use these? I’m fairly certain it’s a different variant, maybe the S model you talked about.
What are the odds? I just saw someone riding one of these today
Great cinematography! Great review and overview. Great looking bike, loving the idea of electric bikes!
Awesome review; this seems like it’d be a great economical daily driver. Additionally, woah, have I missed you picking up a Concours and a new job? Congrats!
Did the dealer put the brake cable as it is? Looks like trouble if you catch a branch on the front left side?
Ive been interested in Zero for a while. Might have to get one this summer
Oh I want one of these so baaaad XD
I should probably get my licence first though and make it official.
Reduce that po-po-paranoia lmao
There are gas powered bikes that make a ton of torque off the bottom. Just not very many of them. The most common ones are cruisers and their weight mutes a lot of that.
Test drove a Bandit 1250 a couple years ago. Torque is crazy strong on the bottom.
Thank you for your review. Ordered mine last Friday . Your video helped as there is not alot of videos. I plan on doing some reviews later as my work is about 34 highway miles away or rural roads option. I have extensive mostly motocross bike experience. Its going to be sweet trail riding without bothering anything or anyone.
those things are cool but weird..lol
