Adventure Bike Test 2018 (under 1100cc): KTM vs Honda vs Triumph vs BMW

KTM 1090 Adventure R vs Honda Africa Twin Adventure Sports vs Triumph Tiger 800 XCa vs BMW F850GS go wheel-to-wheel.

With a fictitious budget of £13,000, we take the four best adventure bikes under 1000cc and head to Wales for some motorway, A-road, twisty B-road and off-road action. In a world with big 1200, 1260 and 1290 adventure and dual purpose machines, how do these sub-1000cc machines fair.

Sayandeep Majumder says:

Should have thrown the Multistrada 950 spoke wheels in the mix.

David Jones says:

the Honda will just keep going and going years after the other three have been scrapped !

Remi R says:

From right to left, overpriced rubbish(BMW), painted ancient overpriced rubbish(Honda), overhyped and overpriced rubbish(Triumph), even more overpriced rubbish rubbish(KTM).

I just can’t tell which one is more hideous.

Tommi says:

Where’s kawasaki versys 1000?

Mojo says:

you tested the 4 worst adv bikes!!!-go figure

Steve Ross says:

That was a great test by guys that really know what they are talking about. I like them all!!

KDinJax says:

Maybe a 5th rider would have picked a Suzuki V Strom (1037 cc) to ride and then, you would have had your best all-rounder. Without the Suze, you don’t have a full cross section of all the under 1100cc “adventure-ish” bikes.

Titan500J says:

What! No Vstrom 650????

Wolfgang Hokenmaier says:

The 1100cc limit seems a bit arbitrary. Clearly the KTM and Africa Twin are closer to other manufacturers 1200’s in size and weight.

sunil kumar says:

all the bikes have one bench mark i.e bmw !!! admit it

Reto-Carlos Hunziker says:

Great review pals

Jerry Smith says:

Not sure if you bloaks decided, or picked a winner….yea, nea. change rear sprocket on the Tiger, and wa la pure champion of these four.! How about plastic panel rattle, any ?

raman akash says:

Where is Multistrada 950

Boris Shuplecov says:

sunil kumar says:

i like @ 10:41 haha

Damian Irvine says:

Gavin Oates

ShooterMedic says:

What Revit jacket is that????

Y A says:

Rather have a scrambler than these ugly bikes with 1 million electric controls and configuration. The point of riding off road is to use your skills not let the bike do everything for you. Go ride a car if you car about comfort that much

MoOrEz says:

Really great video guys, and great roads. Where exactly have you been? Would you share the route you’ve done.?

jimirbon says:

i cant understand a word the africa twin guy says….

W0lle 0nTheM0ve says:

You forgot to mention the NC750X from Honda ….

Brian Stewart says:

I’m happy with my Husqvarna FE-501

Ove Jonskås says:

Have you guys ever taken a bike off road before? Comparing bikes, with different tires, and then trying to tell us they handle bad off road with street oriented tires… What a joke…

onthetrailtv says:

Great photography! Would have been much better if the riders swapped bikes.

moriver1 says:

Why bring in an auto bike on a review. Not a quality review.
